Gyokuro (Jade Dew) is a style of green tea from Japan. It is similar to sencha, but the tea plants used to create gyokuro are shaded three weeks before being harvested. This shading of the tea plants increases amino acids. This process eliminates the bitterness. Gyokuro is less astringent and has more umami. It is a very smooth, elegant tea. We love this tea for its sweet oceanic taste notes!
